IAM Metal Trades Council Members, in an attempt to enhance our efforts to communicate with you we are launching an IAM Metal Trades website.  This website is the culmination of many discussions by IAM leadership and your delegates to the Metal Trades Annual Training Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada over the last four years on how best to communicate with our members.  This was not the only strategy that came up however it was the one that could reach many of our Brothers and Sisters in Metal Trades Councils and could be introduced quickly and effectively.

It will be used as a platform for all things Metal Trades as they relate to the IAM.  We will be soliciting articles from you as well as posting pertinent information on Council elections, negotiations, political and social events.  There will also be hyperlinks to sites to help you navigate and be more informed about issues in the areas of shipbuilding/repair, Department of Energy locations, and Department of Defense locations and what’s new, respectively.

The best thing about this site is that you will be able to participate in keeping content up to date by suggesting issues that you need more information on – or issues that you feel need to be discussed.  It’s up to you!  Methods by which you can contact the site are being set-up and we look forward to seeing you on the site!
